A JEALOUS SISTER'S PLOT

ReflectionFor the most part I enjoyed this form of technology. It did take a great deal of time, energy, and experimentation in order for me to complete it. I am very glad that I decided to do my fractured fairy tale for my book, and then I used that same book for this project. I feel like it would have been such a larger undertaking otherwise. I wish that I could have taken some kind of tutorial or class to help me use Voicethread and Wikispaces, because I have never experienced either mode of technology, and it was very time consuming trying to figure everything out. I might have been raised in an age of computers and internet, but even Microsoft Excel can be a huge technological leap for me! So completing this project required me to stretch my mind.

If I used these forms of technology in my classroom I would use caution. Especially with the privacy settings on the Voicethread; parents would need to be really informed about the process. I myself would need to know a lot more about both forms of technology so that I can aid my students in the process. I would not just give this assignment to a class (especially primary grades) and expect them to complete it. This would definitely be a project to be completed during class time. I could see myself using Voicethread as a project for the entire class. The entire class could put together one Voicethread, and each student could have the chance to comment on at least one slide. I think that would be much more feasible for younger students.
